I much prefer the 1977 Dolby Stereo.

I don’t want much done to the original mix except to replicate the original fidelity. I’d like it as is. No noise reduction, no attempt to make a near field mix.

Well, from what has been leaked, it seems like they are planning on restoring the original stereo (as far as I know that means they won’t tamper with it)? As well as the mono and 6 track, and finally this new 7.1 for theatres. Some people would probably prefer the new remaster, while others would prefer the true originals.

What matters most is giving people the choice (which Star Wars has not officially had for so long). Right now I’d say it’s looking hopeful 🙏

I’m not as excited as I would have been 10 years ago, but still…great news! BUT…I kind of prefer the color grading of 4k77 in most of the shots - I like the slight green shade that it has.

This might not be the finished product when it contains to color. These are leaks after all, so this could be unfinished.

I mean, the colors are looking pretty accurate at the moment, using color seperation masters and all, so I’m guessing they should look more or less the same when it comes out. (Still work in progress obviously, a lot of time left to ruin it 😐)

It’ll come to streaming & UHD.

That would indeed be nice.

They spent millions of dollars on this and have hired like 300 people. Of course, they’re gonna milk it on home media lol!

Well yes, but I feel like stranger things have happened with Star Wars…
Oh well, maybe I should stop being pessimistic, just hard to believe after all this time.

Perhaps I should prioritize common sense over fear of disappointment.

Confirmed at last!!!

“Part of Lucasfilm’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, a newly restored version of the classic Star Wars (1977) theatrical release — later renamed Star Wars: A New Hope — will play in theaters for a limited time.“

YESSSSSSS!

OK but seriously, its great to have it finally confirmed. Needless to say, I’ll be making sure I don’t miss this.

(Also, what are the odds that this is only for cinemas, seems like a stupid not to release these on physical later?)

Do we have any info on how much work they plan to put into restoring the deleted scenes? Obviously there’s a few clips that indicate that they’ve done work on some of these, but could they be creating high quality versions of all of the known cut scenes? (And even some other unseen things, judging by the vimeo clips 🤔)

Feel free to share. No one believes you have any information without proof.

Why would I need to share if there are no more secrets, duh!

You don’t have any. I didn’t think so.

I’m sure that Member X of all people has no extra info on the behind the scenes… 😃
